NEW JAGUAR F-TYPE MAKES WORLD PREMIERE WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM HOT WHEELS
Jaguar has revealed the new 2021 Jaguar F-TYPE in a unique way. It did so in collaboration with Hot Wheels; together they announced a new national engineering scholarship contest, the Jaguar & Hot Wheels Ultimate Track Challenge, as well as set a Guinness World Records title for the most loop-the-loops in a Hot Wheels track at the Chicago Auto Show. The 1:64-scale model sports car made a dramatic entrance on a custom-designed Hot Wheels track. The miniature car achieved a Guinness World Record when it completed 25 loop-the-loops and three gravity-defying jumps. The tiny F-TYPE reached scale speeds of up to 300mph along the custom-built track which was designed and developed with the guidance of Official Hot Wheels master track designer Paul Schmid.
THE NEW 2021 JAGUAR F-TYPE
The real-life new F-TYPE’s debut showcased its timeless design, flowing clamshell hood, subtly enlarged grille, super-slim Pixel LED headlights, sculpted new bumpers and slender rear lights with ‘Chicane’ signature. These include a 300PS turbocharged four-cylinder, a 380PS supercharged V6, and 450PS and 575PS supercharged V8s. The F-TYPE R models features all-wheel drive and is set to deliver an extraordinary performance in all gears and in all conditions. Its 0-60mph time comes in at 3.5 seconds. Inside, the F-TYPE cabin features a new 12.3-inch HD virtual instrument cluster with Interactive Driver Display, luxurious materials, and beautiful detailing define driver-focused interior. Beautiful details surround the occupants, including monogram stitching in the seats and door panels and ‘Jaguar Est. 1935’ markings in the glovebox release button surround.
THE JAGUAR & HOT WHEELS ULTIMATE TRACK CHALLENGE
Jaguar and Hot Wheels have partnered to create an Ultimate Track Challenge. It will be open to college and university engineering programs. Students, working with their local Jaguar retailer, will design and build the most complex, record-setting Hot Wheels track imaginable, meeting both Hot Wheels and Guinness World Records parameters. The participants will have the change to set a record lap at retailer launch events for the new F-TYPE throughout the month of April. At the end of the challenger Jaguar and Hot Wheels will choose the most challenging track and award a $50,000 donation to the participating institutions’ scholarship fund.
